New free VSTi Softsynth from Native Instruments

KORE PLAYER is a free software instrument with a production-ready 300 MB sound library. Built on the same principles as KORE 2, the Next-Generation Workstation, KORE PLAYER includes six Native Instruments sound engines under the hood and provides ready-to-play sounds that can be browsed and tweaked via the ultra-intuitive KORE PLAYER interface. Adding new sounds is as easy as purchasing and downloading affordable KORE SOUNDPACKS. (note from mello - there is also another free 100 sound compilation pack available)

Another very hip FREE Softsynth is the Proteus VX fro EMU - you do have to register for EMU's
newsletter but you get a great quallity softsynth with many extras - to get there and for more

I have Proteus on my computer and can access it from my Creative MIDI input, and my old Yamaha keys,
just can't figure out how to record with it yet :-P
.. I'm a bit slow learning new tricks I guess..
I have just also put Sony's SONAR 8 Studio Edition on my PC,
so far I haven't done anything with it yet, I have not yet been able to get it to export to WAV, MP3, or even MIDI...
I keep pushing forward with MAGIX ;) Thanks for the Music Maker, it has come in VERY handy!
a few new tunes uploaded recorded/arranged with it today.
